Hello Mark,
Yes, I have reproduced the problem on 4.2, and you are right that image
dimensions are cached and that is the reason of the trouble.
But the workaround is fairly simple and straightforward: just call
xep.cleanup() after each xep.render() call or when you know that an
image has been altered.
