Hi Johannes,

We have used both and changed to RenderX. 

FOP didn't really match all customers needs especially for tables,
TOC's, orphan and widows (last Version used FOP 0.20.5). 

As a developer I prefere RenderX because it's more predictable than FOP.
You get more often what you expect to get. You have less experiments on
renderer behaviours. The best thing to check out what's better, is just
rendering the same fo with the different renderers. But you should take
possible workarounds (or different defaults: as ex. border-collapse,
collapse for FOP, separate for XEP) for FOP into account (as we had for
tables and TOCs).

Hi,

We are evaluating RenderX as a possible alternative to FOP. It would be
very helpful to hear from someone who has used both and can give us an
assessment on the capabilities of RenderX vs. FOP. i.e. features that
XEP has that FOP doesn't etc.
