[xep-support] default bookmark pane behavior

David,

in XEP, there is no way to control bookmark pane behaviour
in Acrobat Reader. And, indeed, this behaviour turned out
to be different in distilled version and directly-generated PDF.
The PostScript code simply lacks definitions for viewer
preferences; and by default, no outline window is displayed.

This is a negligence of us. The fix is easy, and will be
included in the next patch (expected soon; it is going to cure
Distiller allergy).

As for "Hide after use", I have never encountered this problem
myself. I use XEP-generated specs every day, and bookmarks
pane remains open by default. Moreover, I confess that I have
found no element in PDF 1.3 to control this feature. I believe
this is a flag set in the viewer app, not inside the document.
Try investigating in the Acrobat settings. In a meanwhile, we
will continue browsing the PDF spec; if we find anything to repair
this, the fix will also be included into the next update.

Regards,

Nikolai Grigoriev
