<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Hello, <BR><BR>I have the XEP 3.6.3 client and am
trying to follow the steps to configure support for some additional Adobe
OpenType fonts I have. The fonts are part of the "Adobe Type Basics
OpenType Ed." collection. Following the instructions in the manual I
added some additional lines to the fonts.xml file. Here is an example
of the additional font lines I have added: <BR><BR><font
name="AGaramondPro-Regular"
<BR> ttf="C:/PSFONTS/AGaramondPro-Regular.otf"
<BR> adobe-encoding="UniCNS-UCS2-H"
<BR> adobe-ordering="CNS1"
<BR> adobe-supplement="1"
<BR> embed="true"> <BR> <alias
name="AGaramondPro"/></A> <BR></font></A>
<BR><BR>When I convert a .fo file to .pdf the conversion seems to be working and
I get a pdf that mentions the new font. However, I also get an error
message(or warning, not sure which) from XEP stating that the font cannot be
embedded. When I look at the document properties in Acrobat it shows
that the fonts have been substituted with some other font instead of the one I
am expecting. <BR><BR>I do not understand why XEP cannot embed the font
properly. Just to make sure the font can be embedded I created a
small FrameMaker document that uses the font and then generated a PDF file from
it using Acrobat Professional. When I did this it successfully
embedded the font in the PDF without any warning. <BR><BR>One area where I'm a
bit confused is with the three adobe- attributes in the <font></A>
element. How can I determine what these should be set to for my
fonts? Also, what is the list of possible values for these
attributes? <BR><BR>Many thanks. <BR><BR>-- Bennett
