FYI The EPS out of Visio works great unless I have curves- circles,
ellipses, etc. Then it looks like junk.<br>
<br>
So, I went to TIFF out of Visio and after figuring out the Docbook
imagedata sizing parameters, the images starting coming out in the PDF.<br>
<br>
I went back to JPEG hoping that I could simply create one file that
would solve both the HTML and the print issue.<br>
<br>
Unfortunately, the Docbook sizing information isn't forward into the
HTML, and I decided it would be simpler to simply save two JPEG
versions rather than figure out how to get it automatically into the
HTML.<br>
<br>
I don't see any print difference between 600 dpi JPEG or 600 dpi TIFF.
However, file size seems to grow faster with JPEG and it may take a
little longer to print, so I may fall back to TIFF if performance
becomes an issue. I would prefer to stick with JPEG so that I don't
have to deal with Docbook profiling.<br>
<br>
So, my processing is currently Docbook(XML) -> xsltproc(FO) ->
XEP (PDF) with Visio used to create JPEGS.<br>
<br>
Thanks for all the suggestions.<br>

Yes, initially, but then I added -page to "convert". I think I figured
it out, at least for this problem. I was "convert"ing to an image that
was too small. I increased the page parameters, and I now get the
image, but it is unacceptable. So, contrary to what I said before, the
pstill product is working better than "convert" as it uses fonts.<br>
<br>
I guess at this point I would like a recommendation. My ultimate goal
is HTML and PDF output from DocBook. I really like how XEP does the FO
rendering but I need better printed graphics. I have MS Visio and the
JPEG from it is fine for HTML. However, I am open to something else if
it will do as good a job for HTML and a better job for printing.<br>
<br>
TIA <br>

Are you creating a postscript file that is a full page with the
image aligned at the bottom left hand corner?
