Here are the lines in question

    <!-- Simplified Chinese and Japanese fonts -->

<font-group xml:base="file:/C:/Windows/Fonts/" label="OpenType">

      <font-family name="AdobeSongStd-Light">
        <font><font-data otf="AdobeSongStd-Light.otf"/></font>
</font-family>
      <font-family name="KozMinPr6N-Regular">
        <font><font-data otf="KozMinPr6N-Regular.otf"/></font>
</font-family>
      <font-family name="KozMinProVI-Regular">
        <font><font-data otf="KozMinProVI-Regular.otf"/></font>
</font-family>
</font-group>

Font-mappings.xml is the font file used by the XEP implementation we have.  I don’t know how old it is, but we’re using DITA OT 1.5.4

Here’s the relevant section:

                <logical-font name="Monospaced">
                        <physical-font char-set="default">
                                <font-face>Courier</font-face>
                        </physical-font>
                        <physical-font char-set="Simplified Chinese">
                                <font-face>AdobeSongStd-Light</font-face>
                        </physical-font>

                        <physical-font char-set="Japanese">
                                <font-face>KozMinProVI-Regular</font-face>
                        </physical-font>
                        <physical-font char-set="Korean">
                                <font-face>AdobeMyungjoStd-Medium</font-face>
                        </physical-font>
                        <physical-font char-set="Symbols">
                                <font-face>ZapfDingbats</font-face>
                        </physical-font>
                        <physical-font char-set="SymbolsSuperscript">
                                <font-face>Courier</font-face>
                                <baseline-shift>20%</baseline-shift>
                                <override-size>smaller</override-size>
                        </physical-font>
                </logical-font>

Please send the relevant entries in xep.xml.

What is font-mappings.xml? Is this something you have done or are you working with very old XEP?

Subject: [xep-support] Japanese fonts in PS files

I have been trying for a week to include Japanese fonts in a PS doc, for later conversion via Acrobat Distiller, but for some reason, I cannot.

Is there a simple workaround I am missing?  The fonts I want are in both my font-mappings.xml and xep.xml files.

Best Regards,

Mario DI GIACOMO
