[xep-support] SUPPORT_XSL11 and rx:change-bar-begin?

Bob:

Most of all XSL 1.1 options were initially implemented through an XSL
contained within xep.jar that transforms the XSL FO 1.1 structures to the
already implemented and supported rx: extensions. It is the execution of
this XSL that requires memory and setting SUPPORT_XSL11 to false will
disable the execution of the XSL. So:

1) Yes, it would signal an error like "fo:xsl-11-feature" is not allowed as
a child of "fo:*" or something like that. It would not trigger an error for
the rx: extension equivalent features.

2) The current product plan for the next release includes internalizing all
of these XSL 1.1 features and removing the XSL completely (likely along with
SUPPORT_XSL11 as it would no longer be needed). Either the rx: extensions or
the XSL 1.1 equivalents would be supported without the initial XSL
transform.

This should be approximately in the September timeframe.

Subject: [xep-support] SUPPORT_XSL11 and rx:change-bar-begin?

Hi,
The documentation says that XEP configuration option SUPPORT_XSL11 saves
memory if set
to false. However, what are the consequences when using
rx:change-bar-begin? I know
that fo:change-bar-begin is an XSL-FO 1.1 feature, but do you consider your
earlier
extension rx:change-bar-begin a "1.1 feature"? Does the processor signal an
error if
you try to use a 1.1 feature with that option set to false?
