[xep-support] java.io.IOException: Broken pdf file. Wrong token 'xref'

Hi,

 

We're using xep4.9 running on UNIX and use fo:external-graphic to
include external PDFs.

There are a couple of PDFs producing this error: 

 

[error] Failed to create image http://ourhost/attach/642.pdf?page=1 of
type application/pdf

[error] java.io.IOException: Broken pdf file. Wrong token 'xref'

 

I came across this web page relating to the same issue with xep 3.8.4:

I don't know how these PDFs were created. They were uploaded by a user,
and are served to RenderX via a webservice call. It's the first time
we've seen this issue and have tons of PDFs working just fine.
