[xep-support] Alignment of text in blocks

Hi All,
Just a quick question in case anyone has had this problem before and
found a good solution :)
I have an fo:block within which I have some text. This text varies in
length but not greatly so I use some simple xsl to vary the font size
to maximise the space in the block. I also align the text to the
bottom of the block - and this is where I have the problem. As the
font size increases, the space left for descenders obviously increases
as well and this makes the baseline for the text change and this
doesn't look great across multiple pages.
So, does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix the baseline of
some text within a block so that no matter what the font size is, the
text still 'looks' like it is in the same place? In my head I have
been thinking of this as somehow specifying the font baseline be a
certain distance from the bottom/top of the block or possibly forcing
the baseline to the bottom edge of a block and allowing overflow or
something similar.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Robert
