[xep-support] aligning text in two blocks or columns

Suppose you have two columns, or two blocks side by side, containing  
text.  Now suppose that one of the two contains a title, for example,  
in a bigger font, followed by normal text.  Is there any way in XSL  
to ensure that the text remains aligned in the two columns?  That is,  
to add or remove a little space before or after the title, if  
necessary, so that the lines of text following it line up with those  
in the other column?
