Hi Alexei,

i have posted an new issue "Search in PDF".
My main problem is in postprocessing the XEP-PDF. I think the cause is the font encoding.
Please take a look at my new issue.

Thanks, Ronald

Hi Ronald,

The support of TrueType fonts in FOP is very limited.
That's why WinAnsi character encoding is a good alternative in cases when text contains Latin-1 symbols only.

As I said in my previous post, XEP has no option to set character encoding of PDF font objects (PDF fonts).

You can achieve the result you want (i.e. obtain the WinAnsi encoding) by setting 'embed'=false on the corresponding font entry of a TrueType font.
In such a case XEP doesn't embed the font file into PDF and sets the encoding to WinAnsi.
Please note that PDF Reference strongly recommend to embed all TrueType fonts into PDF and I discourage you from using this method as a long-time work around.

Best regards,
  Alexei Gagarinov
