A "Markers" example (http://www.renderx.com/featurestest.html) could
help getting things to work.

Markers are used together with retrieve-markers providing a mean to
produce "Continues on the next page" message *in a static-content*
according to XSL 1.0.
The coming XSL 1.1 will introduce retrieve-table-marker element, which
is allowed in table-header or table-footer, and is designed to allow
"Continued.." or partial sums in repeating table elements.
