[xep-support] image maps?

Hi,

This is my first post to this list.

I want to know if it's possible to implement something similar to HTML 
image maps for the PDF output. I'm using XEP 3.8.4.
In other words, I want to link from within an area in an image to 
another part of the same PDF document. My images are SVG that I'm 
producing with Batik, so if there's something needed from the SVG side I 
can add it. I just started to work with XSL:FO so I haven't figured out 
if something can be done with XSL:FO alone, like overlaping basic-links 
on the image using relative positioning, or something simpler I'm missing.
