[xep-support] Hyphenation

This might be a stupid question: I need to add german hyphenation and 
somehow don't get it to work with XEP4.0.
The language code "de" is set on the page-sequence (with all the block 
elements where hyphenate="true") and it is also included in the XEP 
configuration with:
    <language name="German" codes="de deu ger">
      <hyphenation pattern="dehyph_rx.tex"/>
    </language>

Any ideas why the hyphenation still seems to be random?
