Hi Uwe,

Your documents are relatively small, so XEP can format them fast.
To increase performance you may turn off validation (-valid option, or
set "VALIDATE" property with the value of "false")and set maximum Java
heap size (-Xmx option) to a higher value.
If you are using XEP via API, it is important to reuse formatter
object instance for sequential formatting since its re-creation can
cause considerable overhead (doc/applications.pdf, "4. Notes on
Performance").

You may also consider high performance solutions based on "formatting
server" called EnMasse (http://www.renderx.net/Content/tools/enmasse.html).
